The Flint MRI in Flint utilized a new technology with copper embedded in the steel walls that enclosed the magnet room
Both projects were constructed for the 3 main hospital systems in Flint, MI. The Grand Blanc project was new construction. It housed 3 magnets, including a new C arm, state of the art magnet. The Grand Blanc project was awarded a runner-up in the Build Michigan Award competition recognizing construction management excellence. Construction for the Flint project took place while full operations were occurring on the other MRI magnet. The project consisted of a renovation of the entire building except the older magnet room and new construction of the wing for the new Tesla 3 magnet.
