Capital City International Airport

This project had a challenge of incorporating extreme security measures throughout the facility, but doing so in a way that was not obvious to travelers or a casual observer.

E&L Construction was engaged in a unique project for Capital Region International Airport in Lansing, MI. The renovation and addition to house the new Federal Customs & Border Patrol Station were constructed under the watchful eye of federal agents during construction. E&L produced a world class expansion project opening the Capital City Airport to foreign travelers with a new hub for passenger and commercial air traffic including customs offices, interview stations, security infrastructure, locker rooms, offices, agricultural inspection lab, baggage carousels, holding cells, and a full-service international gate. Work at the busy, fully operating airport was closely monitored by E&L Supervision, to keep all on-going AOA operations moving forward without interruption.
